This picture was taken years ago and no it wasn’t by me, but its absolutely priceless. Its a wedding picture that commemorates the start of a family’s history.
Photography is so important at your wedding; with a picture at a glance you can tell your children or grandchildren about their family roots. The trend for many couples is not to have prints or albums but to have a disk or USB with all the pictures on them. All these couples have intention of printing the pictures themselves but many have found that after their wedding, they are very busy, building their house, doing up their house or maybe they are lucky to have a baby on the way and time passes and their wedding pictures never get printed.
Years pass and they decide to print some pictures, because they would like pictures to show their children or maybe someone has died in the family. Then the search begins to find the images, but what happens if the disk or USB got damaged and can’t be opened or technology has moved on and you have nowhere to view the wedding pictures
I suppose the next thing to do is go back to the photographer, that’s of course if you can find him or her, we have found over the last 10 years that people with good cameras are taking pictures at weddings and after a year or so they stop. A lot of these do not keep images of weddings more than six months.
Did you have a videographer at your wedding, have you collected it? Can you play it? Technology will have moved on, its not that long when you got your wedding on a video , does anyone have a video player anymore ?. If you are lucky enough to have had your wedding recorded the next step is to find the videographer, unfortunately it’s the same as photography , a lot came into the business but are not doing it anymore and even if you find them the chances are they won’t have anything for you.
This wedding picture is priceless; you don’t need technology to look at it. At the time this was taken you just came into a studio and had a couple of pictures taken, but imagine the memories you would have with an album of the start of your own family history.
