On Friday the 20th February we had the pleasure of photographing Janis Finnegan and Martin Hyland’ wedding and here is a brief story of our day.
We had three photographers on this wedding myself, Emma and her husband Ger,we set off for Ardee to the brides house early to get pictures of Janis getting ready. We were met by a very happy and calm dad Joe a well-known videographer and mum Angela. When we got into the house there was a lot of activity with the bride having her make up done and bridesmaids Joanne, Bee, Louise and Leanne looking for a lost ear ring (which they found).
Myself and Ger then left Emma to photograph all the preparations and detail shots of dresses ,shoes, rings and flowers. We headed off to The Railway Bar to meet up with Martin and Groomsmen Graham, Paul, Brendan, Shane and usher Damian.
Back at the house Liam from Dixons Wedding Cars had arrived with their Rolls Royce Phantom to take Janis and her dad to St Catherine’s Church Ballapousta for the ceremony, meanwhile at the church we met up with Ben Corcoran a very good friend of Joe who videoed the day and Caroline from Flower Studio Dundalk who had decorated the church and entrance with beautiful flowers and lanterns.
Then the big moment everyone was waiting for happened, the bride arrived and all was ready for a very proud dad to walk his daughter down the aisle. Well known singer Brendan McCahey started singing and the ceremony began. This was a beautiful ceremony with lovely readings and wonderful music.Fr Murphy kept everyone at ease with some light hearted comments and a lot of good advice.
Before we left the church we took a few photographs on the alter and it was great to see Janis’s Grandfather Ben taking a few pictures and even nicer when Grandmother Doris got into a picture with the happy couple at the door of the church.
Then it was off to Cabra Castle for the reception were unfortunately it rained as the bridal party arrived, we took lots of stunning pictures inside the Castle’s gold room and on the wonderful staircase in front of the most beautiful window. By this time it had stopped raining and we got outside for some photographs using the Castle as a backdrop.
All there was left to do was the cutting of the Cake made by Mc Connons Cakes Carrickmacrss Co Monaghan and one last picture in the bridal suite behind the gorgeous bath.
We would like to thank Janis and Martin for having us photograph this wonderful day.
Below are some of the moments we captured.
